Position: Marketing and Communications Development Associate

Position
The Marketing and Communications Development Associate is an action-oriented, results-driven team player who is able to execute a variety of responsibilities in a fast-paced work environment. She or he must be a strong writer and creative thinker with a background in social media and cause marketing. This position will report to the Marketing Director, who manages the public-facing image of Wholesome Wave, and will provide marketing and communications support and execution for partnerships and the organization overall. The chosen candidate will have the opportunity to work within a collaborative and highly talented marketing and development team and gain valuable knowledge about the backbone
operations of a non-profit.

Responsibilities
The position responsibilities include:
 Social Media:
o Develop and execute social media strategy in collaboration with Marketing Director.
o Produce and curate content across digital platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and LinkedIn.
o Run social media campaigns that expand social media audience and improve engagement.
 Digital Marketing:
o Execute all mass email, including newsletters, donor communications, and event messages.
o Manage email database in MailChimp.
o Manage website and microsites, and perform all in-house maintenance, updates, and enhancements. Track website and microsite budgets.
 Communications/Storygathering:
o Produce executive and fundraising presentations.
o Write content for blog, annual report, website, campaigns, talking points, etc.
o Craft messaging to convert supporters who do not give, or who give at below $10,000/year to higher levels of engagement and giving. 
o Prepare all mass-market donor correspondence, and acknowledgements.
 Collateral Production:
o Oversee production of all public-facing printed and digital materials from concept through budgeting, planning and distribution, for marketing, programs, and development.
o Facilitate communication across teams and with outside partners to achieve desired outcome.
 Fundraising Support:
o Collaborate with Development colleagues in the creation of outward-facing collateral materials for fundraising efforts and funded partnerships, and in the development of cause marketing campaigns.
o Support direct marketing efforts for partnerships, including hard copy and digital engagement (i.e., e-mail marketing and print), in collaboration with Partnership Managers.
o Coordinate timing and execution, messaging and delivery of annual and periodic fundraising appeals.
o Coordinate promotion of cause marketing, employee-giving, and matching gift programs.
o Manage all crowd-funding, fundraising events, and micro-giving campaigns.
 Relationship Management:
o Point of contact with graphic designers, web development team, printers, videographers, and other consultants/contractors as needed.  Provide overall support for Marketing, Development, and Partnership Management where
needed.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
 Excellent organizational and time management skills.
 Strong writing and verbal skills.  Ability to manage multiple campaigns in a year.
 Ability to work well with teams in a collaborative manner.
 Proficiency in Adobe Suite products, particularly InDesign and Photoshop, Experience with Web building software/tools, Raiser’s Edge, MailChimp and other CRM/Database products.
 Knowledge of Moves Management.
 College degree (preferably in marketing, communications, or related area) and at least 2-5 years of experience in Communications, Social Media, or Fundraising.

Working Conditions
 The Communications & Marketing Associate must be able to work from Bridgeport, CT office at least 4 days/week
 May be required to work evenings and weekends during major campaigns and special events
 Occasional regional and national travel required

Compensation, Time and Classification:
 Classification is Full-Time, Salaried position
 Working hours Monday-Friday 9-5 with some flexibility
 Salary commensurate with skills and experience
